Submission
and participation guidelines
** The official language of the conference is English, but papers and
sessions in languages other than English will be considered.
** Individuals
may submit up to two papers, whether submitted with sessions or as independent
submissions. Individuals may submit a panel proposal, comprising at
least FOUR papers but no more than FIVE papers. Panel proposals must
have full abstracts and author information for each paper to be considered
valid. Abstracts for both papers and sessions of no more than 150 words
can only be submitted online at http://www.qi2007.org.
** A
poster session will be organized on May 5th, 2007, Saturday. Please
indicate if you want your abstracts to be considered for this session
when you make your submissions.
** The online
submission begins on October 1, 2006, and closes on January 15, 2007.
All abstracts will be peer-reviewed. Acceptance emails will be sent
to individuals on December 20, 2006.
** We welcome proposals
that broadly cover both traditional and experimental approaches to and
practices of qualitative research. A partial list of topics is suggested
at our website, but participants are encouraged to develop their own
unique topics and perspectives. Our conference is committed to helping
qualitative researchers from all disciplines and all parts of the world
participating in an all-inclusive dialogue about the state of the art
in qualitative research.
** All conference
sessions take place at venues throughout the University of Illinois
campus. Each session is composed of 4-5 presentations, and is guaranteed
a 90-minute slot. Chairs will be assigned, or self-nominated for each
session, and they will discuss with other session participant about
the format of presentations. Normally, each presentation is expected
to run 12-15 minutes.
** Upon submission,
individuals will be asked to indicated their special need for equipment,
translation, venue, etc. For cost reasons, LCD projectors will not
be provided for free at the conference. Overhead projectors and VCR/DVD
playback equipment will be provided for free. We encourage you to
bring transparencies, other than computer-based Powerpoint files,
for your presentation(s).
** The conference
does not have financial support for participants. Limited openings of
conditional and unconditional waiver of registration fees are available.
